We spend the morning on an architectural walking tour of
Venice designed to introduce--or
reintroduce--participants to this most magical city
Lunch at Al Profeta
This afternoon we visit
originally a customs house, Punta Della Dogana has been a museum
for the unparalleled Pinault Collection
since Tadao Ando’s 2008 remodeling
and
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection
one of the world’s great modern art collections

Tuesday, June 9
We start our day with a guided tour of the Biennale’s other main venue
the Arsenale.
After a break for lunch, we visit selected off-site exhibitions.

Our Day on the Islands
This morning we have special access to the studios of some of the
the most authentic craftsmen on
Murano, the ‘glassmaker’s island’.

This afternoon we tour Torcello’s Byzantine treasures

Our Day on Land
Vicenza and Padua
We focus on the architectural masterpieces of Palladio and others for
much of the day but no visit to the region
would be complete without
seeing Giotto’s frescos in Padua’s Scrovegni Chapel

Friday, June 12
We return to the Giardini for a very special visit with Paul Ha,
director of the MIT List Visual Arts Center and curator of this year's American Pavillion.
